Spending time in the park, tis the season.
Finally, albeit sporatically, the weather is giving us the kind of weather condusive to spending our days in the park. Trinity Bellwoods park patrons encompass a wide range people and it's a destination park locally and internationally (did you see that Vogue article? ;-). We ask everyone to please, please be considerate in all manners of using the park for all to enjoy. We're polite Canadians, this is second nature, oui?
A few park pointers:
- Do picnic in the park and try that new wifi courtesy of the WestQueenWest BIA.
- Show your love and respect for the environment and pick up after yourself #donotlitter #cleanup #nolitterbugs
- All paths are multi-use and shared - walkers, cyclists, rollerbladers, strollers, kids, people, pets, unicycles - give way to each other. E-bikes are required to pedal (no motorization) in any park.
- Never lock your bicycle(s) to young trees - this can cause long lasting harm and hinder their survival. This is where we plug the Adopt-a-Tree program This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. Be a tree parent!
- The consumption of alcohol is prohibited in the park. Smoking/vaping, be thoughtful of your surrounding company i.e. children
- Loud noise, music, drumming, please consider that the park is surrounded by a residential neighbourhood. Sound reverberates far and wide, beyond your circle. Please keep your noise activities contained. Drummers, if your listening, how about rotating with a few different locations? It would lessen the toll from every Sunday. ta.
On any given summer weekend there is at least 3000 people enjoying the park. Individually, if we care for the park by simply practicing these few points, will go a long way to sustaining the greenspace for the future.
Thank you and happy summer from the Friends of Trinity Bellwoods Park. Understand, we are made up of volunteers from the community that have a particular interest and care for the park. Maintaining our social media and getting the news out there is a part time affair. Our intitiatives - Adopt-a-tree, greenhouse and farmers market are all volunteer run. We thank you for your patience. If you are a committed person who'd like to volunteer your time for a duration, select the appropriate contact via our contact page!
We try to keep our calendar up to date on permitted events that occur in the park. Our facebook page is a bit more current with park news and our activities. Follow us on twitter. If you see something in the park you want to share, pass it on!

Thank you @trinitybellwood for the 'missed the bin' photo share!
