May 2012 - very sorry to see this beautiful, very old, American Elm besmirched by graffitti. The tree is one of the oldest in the park and is a rare survivor of Dutch Elm disease.

Part of the reason tree adopters try to keep the base of their tree free of grass and weeds? So that weed-wacker operators don't use the machine near the tree.
Five London Plane trees were planted in the north end of the park -- part of the 41 that were planted June 10, 2011. A stately row which will be magnificent, especially in the fall.
Five Ginkgo bilobas arrived in the park around July 8, 2011.
