The market operates during the growing season in Ontario – May to October. It is located under the beautiful tree canopy at the north-west corner of the park at Dundas Street West and Shaw Street. It was started in 2007 by community members and is independently managed by one of the founders with the generous assistance of an assortment of amazing seasonal volunteers, many who return year after year! If you’re interested in helping sustain operations and spend a day outside with us, there is a volunteer call out in the spring and occasionally again during the season via the Friends/Market newsletter and socials. We’d love to have you and it’s a lot of fun!
Our Mandate is to support and increase access to fresh, local, sustainable and organic agriculture. To educate the community in the food they eat, the source from which it comes and how it is grown and/or prepared. We like slow food, not fast food and eating at hearth and home with your loved ones. It is a human food focused market and do not consider non-food vendors, craft, services, distribution or pet foods.

The Trinity Bellwoods Farmers’ Market seed was planted in 2006 by FoTBP members Scott Cinello and Carolyn Wong. The following year was spend researching, connecting with city, sorting out logistics, curating the vendor line up, collecting over 600 support signatures from the community and with the Councillor on board, applied for a City permit. It opened June of 2007. Since then, it has become a beloved seasonal fixture in the neighbourhood to shop directly from local Ontario farmers, local food artisans.
